ESL teacher - Nanjing

Job Description:
At Nanjing STEAM International Education, we offer teachers the opportunity to grow their skills and experience in a beautiful city, while helping students to discover more than just the rules of grammar.

As a STEAM teacher, you will have the opportunity to bring more than simple English to your classroom. Our interactive courses allow students to develop skills in areas that aren’t covered in traditional ESL classes – science, technology, engineering, arts, crafts, mathematics, music, movement, logic and emotional skills.

Our aim is to strengthen our teachers’ skills as well, and as such we host regular training sessions, social events and offer opportunities for advancement throughout your career.

Students are aged 3-11, and will come to the school once or twice a week depending on their age. Small class sizes allow teachers and students to forge strong bonds and receive the attention they deserve.

Our campuses in Nanjing are beautifully designed, and each teacher will have their own classroom. As one of the old capitals, Nanjing is a beautiful, modern city steeped in culture and history. Public transport here is incredibly efficient, and there is always something new to try.

• This position is ideal for someone with experience teaching young learners
• Maximum 22 teaching hours per week
• 2 weeks training in Beijing, 1 week training in Nanjing upon arrival
• Weekly discussion meetings, regular training sessions throughout the year
• Average working hours are around 35 hours per week
• Teaching materials and interactive technology provided
• Demo classes and marketing activities will be included in teaching hours
Requirements:
• Fluent English speaker from a native speaking country – US, UK, Ireland, Canada, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand
• Bachelor’s degree
• A TEFL, TESOL or CELTA certificate or 2 years teaching experience
• No criminal record (will need to acquire a reference check)
• Physically healthy (will need to perform a medical check)
