Live with and teach English to a family in France

Program Description

You will be able to earn a free room and full board in France by sharing your language for fifteen hours a week. This will allow you to immerse yourself in French culture and language as you teach English. This is a great volunteer programme to see what it is like to live in France and you might even learn some valuable French language skills. You will be placed in a homestay with a local family. You will have your own room and be provided with all meals in exchange for fifteen hours of language instruction a week.

This is a great exchange since you will help the children, sometimes adults, of local families learn English and improve their language ability. Lessons can be formal or informal, according to the family’s requirements.

Qualifications

Conditions of Eligibility:

- Be a native English speaker
- Have finished High School
- Be flexible, open-minded and willing to adapt quickly to your new environment
- Respect the host family’s rules
- Have some knowledge of French. The programme is not suitable for total beginners in French
- Previous teaching experience is not a requirement but is highly recommended
- Seniors welcome!
