Founded in 1983, HESS International Educational Group is the largest and most recognized private language school in Taiwan. We employ more than 600 native English-speaking teachers in 180+ HESS schools across Asia - including Taiwan, China, South Korea and Singapore. Our staff has more than 30 years of experience looking after both new and experienced teachers just like you. At HESS, you'll work directly with a stable, well-established educational organization. We are not a recruitment agency, and we do not charge any fees.
OUR LOCATIONS:
1. Taiwan - Nationwide
2. Korea - Seoul
3. China - Shanghai, Tianjin, WuXi
4. Singapore
WHAT IS A HESS SCHOOL LIKE?
Because we write, create, and publish all of our own materials for children, HESS ensures that our curricula are integrated and theme-based. HESS teachers never have to worry about what to teach—this is laid out for them.
About our classrooms:
• All teaching materials are provided by the school
• Most classes will include a Taiwanese assistant teacher
• The average class length is approximately 2 hours
• HESS teachers are trained to teach all age groups
• The average class range is 9-20 students*
*If there are ever more than 20 students, HESS teachers hourly pay is increased for each student beyond 20.
Requirements:
WHO CAN TEACH WITH HESS?
HESS is looking for serious and committed candidates who are patient, flexible, enthusiastic, energetic, and personable. You don’t have to be from a teaching background—we’ll teach you how to teach!
WORK PERMIT REQUIREMENTS*:
1.Native-level English speaker
2.Passport holder from USA, CAN, UK, IRE, SA, AUS, or NZ
3.Bachelor's degree OR associate degree with a TEFL/TESOL certificate (All majors are welcome!)
4.One-year commitment
5.Criminal record check
*Please note that these are the minimum requirements to apply for an English teaching position. There are no exceptions. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept an application from anyone who does not meet all of these criteria.
