A+ World Academy- High School + Gap Year at Sea! +20 Cities!
Program Description
A+ World Academy is an international boarding school that sails around the world. Each year we visit +20 destinations, combining our university preparatory program with global insight and a campus that is a catalyst for personal development. Students receive sail training on our beautiful Sørlandet, the oldest fully rigged tall ship that's still in operation today, and become part of the maritime crew while on board.
We combine the prestigious Advanced Placement courses with our own signature program designed to give students a better understanding of their academic coursework and the world we live in.
A+ World Academy students travel the world meeting different people and experiencing different cultures. Our students learn to understand and accommodate similarities and differences. Our students evolve as global citizens with the insight and competencies that we all need and demand from our next generation of global leaders.
With a world-class tall ship as our campus , students learn teamwork and decision-making through experience. They develop global networks and mature as people, giving them a deeper understanding of real leadership.

Highlights
- A+ World Academy has one of the most unique high school settings in the world.- We give 62 students from all over the globe (+10 nationalities onboard) the opportunity to complete 11th-12th grade or gap year aboard the world's oldest fully rigged tall ship! During their time with us students learn to sail our incredible vessel, taking her to over 20 different destinations throughout the year.
- All the while, students are studying like they would at a regular American boarding school, taking AP courses, receiving college counseling, participating in clubs, etc.
- Our program is truly one of a kind and our students learn just as much outside of the classroom as they do within it.
What`s Included
Our fees include program cost, school material, boarding and all organised activities in port. Extras are insurance (500€), Vaccines, Visas, uniform and pocket money which must include funds for meals in ports.Program Locations
