Climb to the top of the San Marco Basilica, adorned, ceiling to floor, in elaborate mosaics. Stop in Verona for a visit to the backdrop of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Continue on to Florence to admire Michaelangelo’s David at the Accademia and prepare an authentic Italian meal. Explore the ruins of Pompeii buried in the volcanic ash when Vesuvius erupted 1,900 years ago.
