Gap Year Programmes
Program Description
High school and college graduates should consider taking a gap year or semester in order to explore the world and broaden their world views. This is a time to experiment and to find out through trial and chance what future they would like to pursue.
Oxford International Study Centre prides itself in creating individualized courses for Gap Year students. A variety of programmes will be set in Oxford, a unique and interesting city with noteworthy professors from all specialties. This centre also partners with schools and institutions in Asia, North America, Europe, Africa, and South America. Programme participants can choose to work as language assistants or even be part of a personalised travel plan.
Oxford Courses include:
• Languages: all European languages as well as Chinese and Japanese
• English Literature, History and Culture
• Classical Languages (Latin, Greek) and Classical Civilisation
• Art and Art History
• Theatre Studies and Creative Writing
• Business and Marketing
• Sciences and Mathematics
We offer other courses so that we can match each student’s interests and skills. Please mail us for more information.
We hold a social and cultural event every fortnight during the year, with daily events in July and August. This is a great way for Gap Year individuals to interact and make friends with other OISC students from across the globe.
Students also have the opportunity to (re)take examinations during the course of the gap year. They can take A-Levels, GCSE, IB, or Oxford and Cambridge University preparation exams. These exam preparations can be taken with other classes or projects.
We have connections and affiliations to aid Gap Year students in locating paid or unpaid voluntary work while in Oxford in addition to any classes.
Gap Year courses are personally created for every participant, so costs change. It is reasonable to expect 5700 GBP each term of 12 weeks as well as additional accommodation fees of 200 GBP each week. You can also look into short courses of 480 GBP each week.
