Program Description

Poverty is one of the largest obstacles facing the Ugandan community. This impacts education, supplies, and medical knowledge.

Volunteer with the Uganda Medical Volunteer Placement and assist in a region where you are needed. We are open to both medical students and professionals to assist with improving hygiene and sanitation, adolescent reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS, among other initiatives. You will aid our attempts to benefit rural communities through health care while decreasing incidences of endemic diseases and promoting health education and public health projects.

The responsibilities of volunteers depend on skills and background. You may be asked to help in the local health clinic by treating Syphilis, Tuberculosis, and malaria, some of the diseases most often found in Uganda. Registered paramedics, lab technicians, doctors, and nurses as well as those who have been trained to perform a medical technique can help with lab work, IV starts, injections, and diagnosing. Midwives and gynecologists will be asked to help with prenatal and antenatal care. Those with backgrounds in health can assist with recording immunizations and injections, dispensing medication, cleaning or painting, donations, and providing seminars on nutrition, nursing, or other subjects. Give lectures on HIV and methods of prevention as well as testing services, counseling, and home visits. V
