Medical Professional Volunteer in Quito, Ecuador

Program Description

Our international staff and partners collaborate year-round to ensure that these medical trips are focused on providing medical and primary care to local communities. While the volunteer stints last from one to two weeks and are short-term, we have made continual access to care and health services as well as care provision sustainability for 52 weeks a year our priority. We make sure that patients in our communities feel confident about their access to care including those who need overnight hospitalization, access to affordable surgeries, or providing prescriptions for those with chronic issues. We work strongly with international organizations on the ground to ensure that our resources, both financial and human, work effectively. We help to maintain and build clinic capacity and provide continuous care for 7 days each week and all 365 days a year.

We have established relationships with both the communities and organizations that we work with. Timmy works to ensure that clinics are stocked with adequate medication and even work with high school and university students to fundraise.

Highlights

Our medical service trips are short, being only 1-2 weeks in length. Combined, our service provides care to over 14,000 patients each year. Last year alone we sent over $3.85 million dollars worth of medicine to our clinics. As a medical professional you have an opportunity to be a part of that model. Traveling to a foreign country and working with underserved patients is an amazing and rewarding experience. Check out our website for more information and medical professional's story on their experience traveling with Timmy!
