Program Description

Hedonisia Hawaii Eco-Community is located on a 4-acre property in the rainforests of Puna, Hawaii. We offer a residential program to be a Sustainable Community Manager Intern. Interns receive an immersive experience learning to completely manage a community based on eco-tourism.

For up to one year you can enjoy a ‘hands-on education’ in how our working social enterprise community operates on a day-to-day basis!

We charge a one-time fee for your 3-week training which includes lodgings. There is a lot of information on the community, plants, people, policies, and websites so we don't expect you to learn it all in three weeks! However, over the course of your stay, you will learn most aspects of sustainable community management and to our EcoFeminist Entrepreneur projects.

Two of the foundations our community business model is based on are Eco-Tourism & EcoFeminism. Depending on their education and experience, interns can work our these idealistic yet practical web projects. These sites have a global reach. One of our most important eco-feminist websites offers natural reproductive choice and information. It has been accessed by over 1 million women around the world.

Highlights

The purpose of this internship is to teach ethical business skills and provide a practical philosophical foundation for those who wish to be 'social entrepreneurs'.

Along with volunteers and other interns you will have a great team to work with to maintain the community property!
By learning the everyday details on how to manage a community business based on environmental and feminist principles, you gain the skills and knowledge to create your own social enterprise business based on your ideals!

And you get to do so in paradise!

Qualifications

INTERNS Learning on the Job!

Our Community Management Internship is very flexible. In the 3 week training, we get a chance to live and work with you.
Our ideal candidate enjoys managing, living and hanging out in our entrepreneurial eco-feminist community.
The key is flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn. Interns are expected to communicate! It is one of the best ways to learn!

Interns are encouraged to research their own feminist entrepreneur business project to make the world a better place! Thus as they learn to manage our community and web projects they can apply that knowledge to their own entrepreneurial idea.
