Students will enroll in one of our 3 hour courses in social work or history where they will attend discipline-specific lectures, collective group presentations, and daily visits to human service agencies such as schools, literacy programs, health prevention programs, child welfare, and mental health programs. Students will also visit specific national museums, historic sites, public artworks, and landmarks.
Cuba offers a rich context for exploring the accomplishments and pitfalls of alternate social, political, and economic systems that emerged over fifty years ago in a country only ninety miles from Florida. Students will have opportunity to take advantage of Cuba’s beautiful sun, coastal views, and rich urban and rural communities. This is a unique opportunity for university students from across disciplines to receive college credit while visiting one of the most fascinating countries in the world.
