Shanghai Yangshuo Immersion Program

Program Description

We are proud to present our newest immersion program which combines Chinese language with cultural activities. Enjoy life in one of the most dynamic cities in China, Shanghai, and then head to scenic Yangshuo to relax and explore the countryside.

Shanghai: Students will not only be able to learn Chinese, they will also gain a great understanding of the city and culture. Visit local areas of interest including YuYuan Garden, Tianzifang, Xintiandi, the Urban Planning Center, Nanjing Road, People’s Park and People’s Square, Shanghai Museum, and more.

Yangshuo: Explore all of the natural surroundings and activities of Yangshuo as you take in nature and Chinese culture. Students can engage in activities such as rock climbing, Chinese cooking classes, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting, bamboo rafting, cycling in the countryside, and Tai Chi.

Experience two very diverse and interesting areas in China. This will provide a wonderful introduction for students looking to explore one of the largest growing economies and one of the world’s oldest societies.

Highlights

WEEK 1 - SHANGHAI | Economic and cultural powerhouse
Students will immerse themselves in the local community through visits to cultural centers and other areas of interest. Students will also have the opportunity to go on a day trip to see one of the most historic cities on the Yangtze River Delta or to explore the business environment with a business tour.

WEEK 2 -YANGSHUO | Picturesque mountains and the valley between
Learn about the fascinating countryside through fun activities and even explore further to Xingping, a scenic nearby fishing village. This was once the largest town on the Li River and is a great place for students to experience the local culture. Students can even go on hikes to Mount Lao Zhai Shan for spectacular views of the surrounding environment.
