Liberal Arts and Design Study Abroad - Semester, Summer

Overall rating: 0 based on 0 reviews

Program Description

Accademia Italiana is unique in that about half of our students are from Italy and the rest from around the world. About 20% overall are Americans studying abroad for a semester or the summer. You will therefore have opportunities to make friends from countries as diverse as Sweden, Ethiopia and Korea, while at the same time can improve your Italian chatting with our Italian students and faculty.

If you are studying design with us, you will have the opportunity to learn from prominent and well-connected designers, artists and scholars in their fields, and to attend talks at the school given by well-known designers and experts such as Roberto Cavalli or Vivienne Westwood. AI is the only private Italian fine arts university in Tuscany accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education so you can be sure of the quality of our programs. (The school in Rome has the same accreditation).

Study abroad students can select classes from our Design majors (Fashion Design, Interior and Product Design, Graphic Design, Jewelry Design and Photography and New Media) and from our Liberal Arts offerings, which include Italian history, art history culture and language courses.

Our academic calendar aligns with those of most US universities. Fall semester begins mid-September and ends around December 20, and Spring semester begins the second week of January and ends in May. Summer courses are six weeks long and begin in the second week of June.
In the summer students can take Intensive Fashion Design, Intensive Italian Product Design, or a select from different Liberal and Studio Arts courses.

Highlights
