Alcanta International College
Alcanta International College (AIC) is an IB World School, authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation to offer the Diploma Programme. It is the only IB World School in Guangzhou, China, which admits both international and Chinese students. AIC offers a one-year pre-Diploma Programme (Pre-DP), followed by the two-year IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). Students who have the potential to earn the IB Diploma, but whose command of English is insufficient at the time of application, can enrol in AIC’s one-year Intensive English Programme (IEP) before beginning the three-year programme. AIC accepts students from age 15 years to age 17 years. Grade 9 graduates may apply for admission to the Pre-DP or the IEP, while Grade 10 graduates may apply for admission to the first year of the IBDP. The class size at AIC is small – the maximum is 16 students - and the language of instruction is English (except for foreign language courses). All classes are led by IBO-certified teachers. Students sit for the standardized IB examinations in May of their final year. IB graduates successfully apply to more than 3000 universities worldwide. Students with strong IB Diplomas can receive up to one full year of college credits from some universities.
