The Costa Rica TEFL course offers a balanced program which focuses on key areas for being a successful English teacher: teaching methodologies, teaching techniques, learning styles, classroom management, classroom adaptation, culture in the classroom, effective lesson planning, creativity in the classroom and more. The program is intensive and covers 160 hours of training over 4 weeks. The course will enable you to teach English as a second or foreign language in Costa Rica or anywhere in the world. During the course, trainees learn a variety of teaching methodologies and techniques and teach at least 12 hours of EFL classes to local Costa Ricans while being observed by both TEFL trainers and peers. After each teaching session, trainees receive feedback on their teaching performance. You will also learn to create effective lesson plans, communicative activities for every student level, and activities in the four skill areas (listening, reading, writing and speaking). Additionally, you will create a portfolio to be used both in future classrooms and in the interview process. We include free lifetime job placement assistance, free yoga classes, and free Spanish classes. Additionally, you will become part of our network of Costa Rica TEFL graduates working around the world.
We also offer free housing placement assistance during the course and have options for homestays, shared houses, and independent apartments. |
