The GREEN Peru Program was developed for motivated students who are on a mission towards global water stewardship and sustainability solutions. This program is accredited by Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola with a transcript for 2 transferable academic credits. Day 1:

-Intro to Peru’s geology & water usage
-Visit Inca Empire agricultural sites and conduct field tests for water usage and sustainable agriculture
-Explore and hike Tipon
-Capstone development

Day 3:
-Water consumption and management - explore water issue topics in pollution, mining, and agriculture
-Cuzco’s newest waste water treatment facility access & tour
-Salsa dancing lessons

Day 4:
-Energy class - Peru’s hydroelectric power
-Peru’s water resources & climate change discussion
-Site visit to Cuzco’s water management governmental project
-Visit Peruvian artisan markets
-Capstone Project milestone

Day 5:
-Visit one of Peru’s most historic hydroelectric facilities
-Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu
-Explore the newest World Wonder - Machu Picchu
-Overnight stay at Machu Picchu Lodge

Day 6:
-Machu Picchu hydroelectric power plant visit & industry access
-Explore Santa Teresa
-Glide across the world’s longest zip line
-Enjoy Peru’s natural hot springs
-Depart from Machu Picchu

-Hydrology & watershed class
-Explore Cuzco city plaza
-Capstone Project development

DAY 8:
-River rafting excursion
-Community service Day

-Finalize Capstone Projects with teams
