E-Learning Program in Conflict Zone Mediation
Program Description
Next Program Start: November 1st - 30th, 2014
Learn about facilitating dialogue in the process of reconciliation and post-conflict situations through cultural exchange. This course covers the influence that Cultural Diplomacy can have in peacebuilding and conflict zone mediation.
Students will learn about the discourse within zones of conflict using diplomacy and mediation. The period before the peace-building process will be especially emphasized.
Structure & Methodology
This 4 week program consists of weekly readings and video lectures with daily access to guidance by the CCDS faculty. Telephone conversations will be arranged with a faculty advisor throughout the duration of the program, in order to offer advice and guidance to students. Within a 3 month period after successfully completing the program, students will be required to write a 10 page final paper. This is the grade of the course, however, extensions for all deadlines are possible in order to maintain flexibility with students' professional or other obligations.
Curriculum
The program is includes a total of 5 courses with three mandatory courses and 2 elective courses which can be chosen from a selection of four additional courses, designed specifically for the thematic focus of the program.
