Volunteer, Internship or Gap Year in Ghana!

Overall rating: 0 based on 0 reviews

Program Description

Nka Foundation was developed to serve and give aid to underprivileged communities and is a 501©3 nonprofit organization. We bring volunteers to help build and develop a village for the arts near Kumasi called Abetenim. This arts village will serve as a learning center that provides a secure and stable area for creative individuals to live create, work, and learn. We have structured the village on incorporating local and region methods of construction with our own aesthetic.

Join us in Abetenim in workshops that run during the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. These architectural workshops run for around 10 weeks and we welcome you to participate at any time. Join for 1 to 3 months to volunteer or intern or even work on your thesis and school projects.

Work alongside local creative colleagues and artisans to develop alternative building materials that are sustainable as you build your understanding of the importance of rural development, architecture, and the arts.

Highlights

Volunteers from around the world participate in Nka projects as we seek to integrate environmental sustainability and Open Source methods. We are seeking to develop networks of artisan villages across underprivileged communities throughout Africa and around the world.
