Nine Months

Beyond is an Israel-based gap year enrichment program designed for Jewish students following their high school graduation. Participants can choose between a 5-month or a 9-month experience. Beyond weaves together academic study, leadership development, community service, educational travel, and Jewish life experiences in Israel. Beyond, a project of BBYO, welcomes Jewish young adults from all backgrounds and nationalities.

The first session of Beyond is centered in Tel Aviv and leverages the city’s many assets - Hebrew language immersion, a taste of campus life at Tel Aviv University, service learning projects with Israeli peers, enrichment electives, and ample opportunities for exploration. Experience the best of city and campus life in a vibrant Mediterranean metropolis. Tel Aviv is one of the world’s most innovative cities, and it’s yours to call home in Israel.

The second session of Beyond is about choosing your own path and making an impact. The core elements of the second session are an elective block and a community-based service project based in Jerusalem with an Ethiopia option. Together, these experiences are designed to open a window onto a unique aspect of Israeli society and give participants a chance to leave their own personal mark.
