Minds Abroad Trimester Program

Program Description

China is a multi-faceted destination with a range of sights and experiences for all types of international visitors. While many tourists see the huge cities filled with skyscrapers, there are many more smaller and more personable local villages to experience. These are traditional settings that allow Westerners to see the local communities I China. There are ancient cultures and ways of life preserved through these settings.

This is really an ideal opportunity for those who enjoy exploring off the beaten path. The Minds Abroad China Trimester is based in Kunming, situated in the Yunnan Province. From there we go on excursions to nearby regions.

Highlights

Courses include Mandarin and you can engage in real world intercultural exchange through activities and weekend excursions
Participate in volunteer opportunities as well as internship possibilities in NGOs and companies based in Kunming
This is a 10 month program with three sessions
There are two intersessions in Vietnam
Students can opt to only enroll in one or two of the trimesters

Qualifications

High school students, college students and recent graduates

What`s Included

• Morning class of normally two to four students
• Afternoon activities including volunteer placement and Friday language exchange (if students opt to intern, there is an added fee; please see below)
• Bedroom shared with one other student in spacious modern apartments in Kunming (students who would like a private bedroom can choose that option; please see below)
• All breakfasts and lunches during the weekdays of the program in Kunming and during excursion lunch is not provided during free weekend days
• Dinners while in Kunming (dinners are not included when outside of Kunming or on weeks without activities) and much more...
