Program Description
GVDA leading international non-profit making organization established in Kenya in 1997 with 120 partners worldwide offering programs of cultural exchange, which combine short term volunteer program, home stay, group volunteers, mid/long term internship commonly tourism, adventures and community services of peoples of all ages.
promotes and organizes voluntary service activities in co-operation with local communities as well as other national and international organizations as a means of fostering greater confidence between people of different social, cultural, political and religious background by working, learning and living together.
We member of coordinating committee for international voluntary service – CCIVS, world heritage volunteer program under the auspices of UNESCO and UN habitat and a partner of Alliance of European Voluntary Organizations which is very active within The Youth in Action program (now Erasmus +) since 1997 as sending, hosting and coordinating organization.
GVDA placement program experience starts with one day of language and cultural immersion program giving volunteers an in-depth understanding of language basics, local culture, regional and local issues, and ways of life before the start of the volunteer project. In Kenya we are presently focusing on various major volunteer service projects (working in world heritage sites, in orphanages, teaching English in rural schools, environmental conservation, Computer and entrepreneurs

No qualification for short term, just interest and motivation. Long term fellow’s need to be qualified and experienced, volunteers who have experience in one or more of the following areas: Environmental, Educational, Community development, Public health, Teaching, Science conservation, Event planning, Fundraising and grants writing, The ideal volunteers should be Mature, Flexible ,Self motivated, Creative, Cultural competent and adapting to the new environment easily and possesses sense of humor. we also provide orientation training in session break down which includes information about the country, culture, language, issues of the society, clear accurate, and update information on lawsVolunteer Types

What`s Included
•There will be a staff of the host organization to coordinate the program between the host organization, GVDA and volunteers.•During the program, volunteer's activities will be arranged with the host organization.
Accommodation & Food:
•Meals and accommodation are provided during the project period by host organization. Volunteers may cook for themselves or be served by the host family/organization. It depends on the project.
Free lime:
•Volunteers are responsible for organizing their own free time after the daily work and for the weekend. Host organization will help the volunteer for the information of the locality, if needed.
