Wildlife Rescue Center in the Amazon Ecuador

Program Description

Volunteer with the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center as you work to conserve the local biodiversity of the rainforest. You will work with animals that have been abused or rescued from illegal traffickers and circuses. Help to rehabilitate these creatures and work towards releasing them into the wild. You will have a chance to see these animals develop and grow.

Volunteers will work together to take care of the animals in their charge. Become specialists and monitor for illness or strange behavior. Volunteers will be a part of our observation and enrichment programs where you can observe the animal of your choice. Build toys or create games for these animals to stimulate their environment.

Volunteers may need to engage in physically demanding work including construction, harvesting fruit, and building paths.

Pick up airport, a night with a host family in Quito including dinner and breakfast, orientation, transfer from host family to bus station Quito, pick up in Puyo to take you to the project, support during your volunteering, accommodation and three meals per day in the project.
