Volunteer Work with Orphanage Children

The Himalayan Foundation Nepal is centered in a country that has issues with social infrastructure including a lack of emergency shelter, minimal social support organizations, and proper healthcare. This organization seeks to help orphans by providing education, food, and shelter. The enrichment to the lives of these children will allow them to pursue a successful future and perhaps even impact the trajectory of Nepal as a whole. These children have lived difficult lives and we hope to provide joy and care.

Volunteers with HFN can use their skills and background to aid these orphanage children. The Living Orphanage based in Nepal will usually work with short term volunteers while longer term volunteers have a chance to be placed in one of the affiliated orphanage programs throughout Nepal.

You will assist with helping out with daily activities, doing arts and crafts, instructing health and English courses, and giving aid on schoolwork. Your skills and interests will determine your placement in the orphanage. You will also be seen as a mentor by these children, almost like an older sister or brother, and this will have a meaningful impact on these children’s lives.
