Volunteer Teaching Program In Nepal

Overall rating: 0 based on 0 reviews

Program Description

Volunteer with our program and help to teach English to students who are interested in learning and improving their English skills. You will be able to provide a different type of teaching technique while engaging in a cultural exchange. Work in a private or public (government) school depending on your preferences. While your central task is to instruct English, you may be called on assisting with activities such as extracurricular projects and sports.

Volunteers teach 6 days a week. Your students will be aged 6 to 13 and you will be instructing for 4 to 6 hours each day. You will be assisted by the permanent English instructor at the school. They will be able to offer you advice on curriculum overcoming communication barriers, and developing your teaching methodology. Volunteer English instructors need not be English native speakers but must have a good command of the language. Alliance Nepal will find you alternative volunteer placements such as assisting in an orphanage if you volunteer during exam periods or school holidays.

What`s Included

Alliance Nepal manages room/food for volunteers. In most cases, volunteers stay with host families with a separate room and Nepali food three times a day. Volunteer can also stay inside the premises of a Buddhist temple.

Alliance Nepal maintains local staff, an office, and vehicles. Most of our partner schools are located within 10 miles of our office in Pokhara, enabling us to meet our volunteers frequently and whenever needed. Volunteers will also have 24/7 access to our office and the mobile numbers of our coordinators. Moreover, the head of the school serves as a local contact person for volunteers. Our staff also visit volunteers in 1-2 week intervals as a part of the program.
