Program Description

Diverse opportunities for volunteers to join projects that aim to tackle the social issues faced by many communities in the vibrant city of Buenos Aires. They include volunteering with orphaned children, volunteering as a teaching assistant and volunteering in soup kitchens & kindergartens.

Join us in the vibrant city of Buenos Aires and volunteer with projects that seek to help local communities overcome entrenched social issues. Duties include volunteering in kindergartens, with soup kitchens, as a teaching assistant, and working with orphaned children.

We have placements throughout 2014 and 2015 as well as programs that run from 2 weeks to 12 weeks throughout the year.

We welcome couples, groups, and individuals.

We currently offer five programs in Buenos Aires including:

Childcare volunteering in a nursery
Assisting in the Organic Garden of a Psychiatric Hospital
Helping out in a Community Soup Kitchen
Teaching English as a foreign language
Helping with an orphanage

It is not necessary for you to speak Spanish for this project. We also offer an intensive Spanish program during the first week of your time in Argentina. This will allow you to more flexibility when joining projects.

We offer internship and volunteer projects for those who speak advanced or intermediate Spanish in Mexico, Iguazu, Bariloche, and Buenos Aires. Please inquire for more information.

Highlights

You will reside in a volunteer house located in Buenos Aires. This is available for all projects.

Located only blocks from the renowned Plaza de Congreso, this guesthouse is located in the center of Buenos Aires. Close to public transportation such as the Line A subway, this house features single or shared comfortable rooms with a living room, fully-equipped kitchen, internet access with computers and WiFi, and a TV. You will be able to have luggage storage and a breakfast room as well as tourist information.

This is a social hub for volunteers and participants. Participate in film screenings, talks, lectures, or just a fun exchange of ideas and cultures.

A portion of your payment must be paid when the program is confirmed in order to guarantee a space in this house. The rest of the fee is due one month prior to arrival. This house tends to fill up quickly, especially in the summer, so act fast! If you would be fine with living in an alternative housing, then the full amount of your fee should be paid one month prior to departing from your home.

We also offer homestays.

Food and Meals
Meals are not included in the volunteer house, but you are surrounded by and in close proximity to budget friendly but quality restaurants. You can also cook meals in the guest house.

Qualifications

All volunteers should be aged 18 and over, flexible, and willing to adapt to a new culture. Also, those interested in a professional internship project require either some relevant experience or a strong motivation in that area e.g. radio, health, graphic design.

What`s Included

This cost includes volunteer placement, accommodation in the volunteer house in a shared room (to cover the duration of your project dates, you are of course welcome to stay in the house before and after your placement, but this would incur extra costs), airport pick up on arrival, permanent training and volunteer coordination, and support from our partner organisation in Argentina.

What is not included is your flights and travel to and from Buenos Aires, visa costs, personal and food expenses, and your own health and travel insurance.
