Volunteer in a Disabled Children's Centre in Nepal

Program Description

As a volunteer with this program, you will be responsible for helping with physiotherapy, preparing food, playing games, cleaning and washing, as well as getting the children ready for learning as well as going home at the end of the day. Most important skill you require is the patience to give the kids time to do anything. If you have specific skills in this field then there is also the opportunity to work with the staff and help train them in new techniques.
The main aim is for these children to learn basic care and to have fun in doing so.
. This is a full time position with Saturday as a free day and 6 days of duties. During your working days, you will have time to do laundry or use the internet. The largest Buddhist stupa, Boudha, is located only 15 minutes away. Be immersed in a rich culture of Buddhism and lounge to the sounds of prayers while passing by monks on the streets.

Qualifications

If anyone is a qualified nurse or physio then the centre can use you but the main qualification we look for is the desire to help children.

What`s Included

The fee you pay covers everything from airport pick up through to some sightseeing in KTM as well as transport to and from the placement. It also includes 24 hour support, food and lodgings at the placement etc. All you need to do is bring some spending money for those extras.
