Volunteer Abroad in Ghana

Program Description

Join our affordable program and explore the volunteer opportunities in Ghana. This 501©(3) nonprofit organization is a charity that helps to provide support for underprivileged communities through design and arts. Work with us in Abetenim, an arts village that we are creating that will serve as a space for creative individuals to learn, work, and, live. We are creating the village through sustainable methods while instilling our own aesthetic. We also reach out to local schools and communities through education and community initiative programs.

We need volunteers to assist with empowering women, training youths in valuable skills, job training, coaching sports, teaching computer literacy, exploring farming/agricultural solutions, construction, sanitation and water, and teaching. We especially welcome those who are involved in the arts to teach students about painting murals, puppetry, dancing, music, storytelling, and theatre. We also welcome those who are familiar with construction.

Volunteer with us as you enjoy local community events such as festivals, funerals, and weddings as a part of your cultural training and orientation. You will even be able to go on excursions to nearby aras including the Bobiri Forest Reserve/Butterfly Sanctuary, Ahwia Carving Centre, Ntonso Cloth Pringint Village, and Bomwire Kente Village. Enjoy the historic sites of Kumasi and even have the opportunity to collaborate with local creative including storytellers, weavers, and musicians.

Everybody is welcome to our arts village: eco-tourists, interns and professionals in all of the arts, architecture, design, social work, and innovators seeking new challenges, or spaces to share ideas.
