Volunteer Abroad in Chile - United Planet - 1-12 weeks

Overall rating: 0 based on 0 reviews

Program Description

Chile has long been known for its striking landscapes, including the Atacama Desert, the Andes Mountains, over 3,000 miles of coastline, and the gorgeous region of Patagonia. Volunteers looking to live alongside friendly locals will love the Buena Onda (or "good vibes") that Chileans live by. Chile has one of the strongest economies and stable democracies in Latin America. However, the government is still working to eradicate extreme poverty across the country, and volunteers can work alongside locals to help improve their communities.

As a volunteer, you'll be able to choose between assisting English teachers in schools, volunteering at a daycare, working at a medical facility, or caring for children staying at a shelter for women.

Highlights

Global Health Quest: Volunteer at a medical center that provides aid to terminally ill and elderly patients.
English Teaching Quest: Assist English teachers in classrooms in an elementary school.
Daycare Quest: Assist teachers at a daycare in organizing games and activities and providing childcare.
Women's Shelter Quest: Volunteer with the children of women staying at a shelter for victims of domestic violence.

Qualifications

Volunteers must be at least 19 years old.
