Program Description
Volunteers will be placed with local communities and school in Nosy Komba and Nosy Be through the Madagascar Research and Conservation Institutes’ Teaching Program. Teach conversational English and grammar to local students.
This is a program that provides ample opportunity for volunteers to both give and receive from the local community while teaching English to a vulnerable population. The communities of Nosy Be and Nosy Komba are anxious to learn English because of the increasing number of tourists in Madagascar. This will help them improve possibilities for jobs.
Volunteers will also instruct lessons to members of the staff at the Oceanographic Research Institute on Nosy Be. This will help the staff to collaborate on and present research findings.
