Sports Coaching & Community Outreach in South Africa

Overall rating: 0 based on 0 reviews

Program Description

You will help local children to develop their love of sport. We feel that sports is not only important for keeping children active and healthy; but can also be an excellent tool for developing social skills such as working as part of a team; and provides a positive outlet for children, steering them away from the negative things in life.

You may be running your own independent sports workshops (with the support of a co-ordinator) or assisting a local sports school with their ongoing projects. Soccer is a very popular sport in South Africa so it is a good idea to know the basics of this sport, however we encourage volunteers to also introduce new sports to the children! You will usually be working with children between the ages of 11-18.

By joining this programme you will enjoy a very varied experience, as not only will you be assisting with sports workshops but you will also have the opprtunity to be a part of our various community outreach projects - all aimed at empowering locals!

Community outreach projects may include conducting social surveys in the local township, building eco-friendly greenhouses and helping at an elderly care centre.
