Program Description
HEEED is looking for Volunteers to help with any or all of our ongoing projects. HEEED offers a very flexible programme in which Volunteers are encouraged to participate and initiate new ideas with a particular interest in health, art, education, scientific research and the environment. Each programme takes place at different times of the day – which allows for a flexible timetable. HEEED's programmes include: fuel briquette and recycled paper making, aquaculture ponds, environmental education classes, bilharzia research, catfish population monitoring, HIV/AIDS nutrition/training and home visits, fostering tree planting, organic gardening, developing co-operation between International and Malawian schools, orphan-care programme, and sustainable eco-tourism.
Highlights
When Volunteers arrive, they are given a tour around the HEEED Centre and introduced to the various projects. We then discuss which projects the Volunteer is interested in participating on. Volunteers can participate on as many projects as they would like. Volunteers generally work 5 days/ week with 2 days off. On these days off, Volunteers can also engage in hiking, biking, kayaking, snorkeling and SCUBA diving.Qualifications
