Program Description

Life on the project will depend upon where your main interest lies- there is the opportunity to do a combination of marine work, beach and village work, conservation, teaching and community development.

The aim of the Save Cambodian Marine Life is to facilitate and implement the development objectives of this local NGO in order to improve the lives of the local islanders of the M’Pai Bay village. Poverty, and it's consequential impacts such as lack of education, inadequate health care, poor infrastructure, homelessness and malnourishment, have left the people of rural Cambodia particularly vulnerable. For all its vulnerabilities, this Cambodian island is a beautiful, awe inspiring location that will motivate and encourage you to help these warm hearted friendly people.

Although day to day activities may vary throughout your stay on the island, improving community infrastructure, providing crucial teaching support and training, whilst additionally renovating community buildings and developing regular village clean-up and recycling projects will form the basis of your daily itinerary. Marine conservation is our largest hands on project with reef cleans, surveys & our coral nursery projects for those with Padi Certification. If you don't have it we can teach you & you can join the projects. There will undoubtedly be lots of additional community activities for you to lend a helping hand to!
