Orphanage for Street Children
Program Description
As a volunteer with this project, you will work with an orphanage that takes in children from the streets from across Vietnam. There are currently 37 children that range in age from 5 to 14. Volunteers are expected to teach English, assist in renovating the facilities, and helping out with light construction.
Volunteers can also choose, as a secondary role, to assist with producing local handicrafts that fund the orphanage by being sold in local markets.
Volunteers will be housed in a local college campus. Program participants share rooms with other volunteers and are also living closely with local students. This layout facilitates cultural exchange.
You will stay in dorm rooms with 2-4 volunteers in each section. There is internet access nearby and rooms have both fans and showers.
You will be transported to your project site each day.
