Program Description

Our Ghanaian orphanage child care volunteer program seeks to address the numerous problems that many children without proper education, health care, food, love and attention face as a result of their parents not being there for them. Orphans everywhere need care and love; you will be placed in either rural or urban environments where you will teach, love and care for these less fortunate children. You will help design and execute effective teaching programs, activities and events to inspire and develop the children’s talent and abilities through human interaction and care. This program will also give you an opportunity to explore and understand the Ghanaian people and their culture through the eyes of the people you are helping.

As an orphanage child care volunteer working with children in the orphanage, you will be helping the kids to learn life-skills that parents would normally teach by getting involved in the day-to-day running of an orphanage - making sure the children are fed, washed and dressed,teaching the younger children, playing games with them and paying them personal attention - you will be making a really positive impact in their lives.

Whether you are helping older children with school homework, or playing a game with the younger ones, you will be an important part in their development. Any extra interests or skills that you have can be put to good use, so please let our local staff know about them when you apply.

Volunteer Types

What`s Included

The only cost involve in this project is your food, we have a cook in the volunteer house who prepares three meals a day for all the volunteer, If you are a vegetarian or have any allergies this is taken into account when we arrange your placement. Volunteers pay a flat rate of $350 each for a month or two weeks stay. This means if you are staying one month or two weeks you pay the same amount $350)

The costs covers your three meals a day, accommodation, airport pick up, orientation, laundry service, drinking water, toiletries and wireless internet access 24-hours a day in the volunteer house so that you can keep in touch with friends and family back home,
