Medical Internship
Program Description
Become a volunteer with this project as you assist healthcare professionals such as doctors and nurses in clinics and hospitals located in Ghana, West Africa. Medical and nursing students will be able to assist in a variety of fields such as surgery, mental health, maternity, pediatrics, and A&E. Qualified and certified doctors and nurses who volunteer can work in the daily treatment of illnesses. Not only will volunteers broaden their experiences in these fields compared to practices in Australia, they will also find the challenge very rewarding.
This is a great opportunity to learn as volunteers will buttress their pre-existing knowledge with the techniques learned from local nurses and doctors.
Volunteers will be based in our nursing/medical programs in the vibrant city of Kumasi. There are six bustling hospitals that cover over 1.6 million individuals. Nurses who are volunteers will be able to participate in outreach programs including visits to orphanages and the treatment of children in areas with little-to-no medical assistance.
