Interact with children in kid's homes

Overall rating: 0 based on 0 reviews

Program Description

The foundation is located in the west of Quito. Since over 30 years it works for the improvement and development of disadvantaged areas around Quito. Furthermore it is part of the international organization "Terre des Hommes”. The focus of this volunteering project is the pre- and afterschool education of children and teenagers (2 – 17 years). This includes alimentation, medical assistance and educational programs, which are based on the Montessori model. The aim is to meet their needs and to prevent them from youth homelessness, child labor and child prostitution. The foundation is willing to support volunteers within their centers and programs and can hold up to five volunteers at the same time. Your project will start with an introduction to all the different centers for deciding which one suits best to your schedule and interests. Due to the Montessori model, the school does not work with strict educational structures. For this reason the main tasks of the volunteers are to take care of the children and teenagers, prepare meals, support the children in their natural development process and make their daily life a little bit more livable. At the end of your voluntary period, you will receive a work certificate from the foundation.
