We are looking for experienced construction volunteers that will be able to work independently to help us re-build and fix up the volunteer house and gardens, as well as the new learning space we recently built. We are only accepting volunteers that have experience in building and construction for this position. Those with experience in painting, cement, plumbing, and electric work is also highly desirable. Portuguese is not a requirement for this position, but we highly recommend that all volunteers learn at least basic Portuguese, as most people in Bahia do not speak English. We can send volunteers audio classes upon registration for the position and link volunteers to affordable Portuguese classes upon arrival as well.

Qualifications
• Volunteers must be at least 18 years or older on their date of arrival.• Volunteers must commit at least 1 month of service (exceptions will be considered) and can usually stay for up to 6 months, visa dependent.
• Volunteers work at least 4 hours day/20 hours a week, usually Monday – Friday from 9am to 1pm, although schedules can be flexible.

What`s Included
Itacare is located in a stunningly beautiful surfing and fishing town on the Southern coast of Bahia, Brazil. This is a place where the rainforest and the Rio Contas meets the Atlantic Ocean and where gorgeous beaches, waterfalls, coconut trees and wildlife abound. While this volunteer position is free of charge, we cannot cover the costs for your transportation or personal expenses.We do require a $67 administration fee to reserve your placement and a $250 deposit for your housing deposit. The housing deposit will be returned in full as long as nothing is damaged and all the terms of the volunteer contract and rental agreement has been fulfilled.
