Program Description

As an environmental volunteer in Ecuador, you will be able to help preserve the natural beauty of the Cloud Forest through conservation initiatives including tree planting, trail work, practicing sustainable living and food production, as well as community projects. - Alternative animal production
- Bio-food production
- Eco-construction

Travelling, Volunteering and Learning Programme (TVL) - 2 week programme

- Trip to and overnight stay with an indigenous community
- Eco-construction
- Ecological research techniques
- Camping and learning about survival techniques, shelter building, and finding edible foods

Highlights

Ecuador is a beautiful country and the Cloud Forest is no exception. Although the work can be challenging it is varied and a unique way to give something back to the country of Ecuador.

Qualifications

Volunteers should be aged 18 years or more and should be interested in nature conservation, botany, organic agriculture production, ecology, wildlife and outdoor life, and be adaptable and flexible. It is not necessary to speak Spanish, but it would help if you are willing to learn, since you will benefit from being able to communicate with the local people. A reasonable level of fitness is also required, as volunteers will be doing physical work. It is not necessary to have a University degree or any other relevant qualifications, but it would be an added benefit for those with previous experience or skills working in nature reserves.
