Program Description

Clara Luna is a non profit organization committed to supporting the local community through education-based recreational programming for all ages.
Located in the 'fishing village turned tourist destination' of Puerto Lopez in Manabi, Ecuador. Clara Luna offers no or low-cost programming to the community including after-school programming and reading clubs, language exchanges, group and private English classes and even offers English Teachers to local public schools to improve their current programming.
Clara Luna supports community development in part through its extensive collaboration with other local non-profit groups. Our volunteers have the opportunity to work in collaboration with other local organizations including wildlife preservation with Machalilla National Park, work with the disabled through Fundacion Jose Rivera, various environmental projects as well as beach clean-ups, sea-turtle nesting patrols and much much more! Come join our dynamic team and help 'be the change'!
Current Opportunity: English Teachers
Clara Luna is looking for enthusiastic English Teachers to teach small-group English classes to children and adults!
Puerto Lopez is a growing tourist destination and the ability to speak English helps locals connect to the tourist industry.
Current Opportunity: Language Exchange Coordinator:
Language "intercambio" encourages students to get some practice with native English speakers and for native English speakers to practice their Spanish language skills i
