Program Description

Club de Niños is an after school program for youth of all ages in Puerto López. The programs focus is to encourage and support literacy in the community and promote the love of reading. Participants come to enjoy free reading time, are read to aloud by volunteers and participate in a wide range of activities.

Responsibilities include everything from beach clean up to protecting sea turtle nests!
Clara Luna is looking for people who are interested in environmental projects, education and wildlife protection.
Did you know that two endangered special of sea turtles nest in Puerto Lopez between December-May every year? Help us with early morning patrols and overnight stake-outs at neighbouring beaches with other local environmentally minded organization.

Experience in educational programming an asset

*Commitment to 15 hours/week for one month  minimum

What`s Included

Spanish Classes: $10/ hour!

Volunteering is Clara Luna is Free! However, there is a fee for the discounted accommodation listed below, which goes to cover the cost of the Volunteer house rent. Donations amassed above this are used directly for Clara Luna program and project supplies.

Accommodation Options
Option 1: Single Private, $300 pp per month
Option 2: Couple Accommodation, $400 per month
Option 3: Dorm Accommodation, $400 per month
Option 4: Local Homestay $450 pp per month
