China FREE Teaching Placement

This free teaching placement will be in one of the participating schools in the area. This is an amazing opportunity for travelers who are interested in immersing themselves deeper in the Chinese country and culture. You will earn the experience necessary to be a successful English instructor in China.

As a participant of our Frontier China Teaching Programme, you will be able to assist students to learn English while learning innovative methods and techniques in teaching. To be a successful teacher, it is important that you exchange experience, trust, and confidence to build a friendship with your students. Your students will be a part of your global family and you might even have the chance to go to local festivals with them or to explore areas of China.

This opportunity is absolutely free! All that we ask for is your time, effort, and passion to help Frontier help local schools.

Volunteer Duties

Before you are placed in a local school, you will enroll in a four week intensive Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) course in Gongcheng. You will learn the basics of teacher training as well as learn about Chinese culture. You will have the opportunity to meet with students from local schools while being able to watch lessons taught by Chinese and other foreign teachers. Then you will be able to teach practice classes before you are placed in a school.

Once you have passed the training course and completed the 4 month placement at the school you will be issued with a TEFL certificate. Our local coordinators will help you to secure a teaching placement at a local school teaching around 20 hours per week. You will have the opportunity to make and implement your own lesson plans, giving you the perfect opportunity to experience real China, make a difference to future generations, immerse yourself in Chinese culture and make friends for life with your welcoming hosts and the wonderful children.

After passing the TEFL course and finishing a four month placement at the local school, you will be given a TEFL Certificate. Our on-site coordinators will be able to assist you with being placed in a school with a work load of 20 hours each week. This will give you the chance to create your own lesson plans while living, learning, and falling in love with China. This opportunity will create a network for the future of friends and colleagues.
