Program Description

With Thailand's rapidly developing society, it's more important than ever, that Thais learn how to speak and use English. Children of wealth attend schools with native English speaking teachers to assist them in this very important part of their education. However, children from underprivileged families do not have the same luxury. This is where you come in. Our volunteers teach students that come from difficult family situation and slum areas of Bangkok.

Our volunteers help teach English as a foreign language, under the watchful eye of the full-time teaching staff and (Thai) English teachers at the school.

Highlights

Its a well known fact that teaching English as a foreign language can be a very difficult thing to do. However, a volunteer's energy, and efforts pay off with their rewards of having such a clear window into the culture and society of Thailand, along with making friendships that one will never forget.

Qualifications

Volunteers must be able to speak English fluently, and be knowledgeable about the basics of English grammar and writing rules. Teaching experience is not necessary, but helpful.

A criminal police background check is required by all volunteers in this project.
