Bangkok Orphanage Volunteer Project

Program Description

Daily tasks in the project will vary upon on the orphanage’s changing daily needs. Here are some of the duties volunteer assist with:

Assisting Thai staff in prepare meals and care of children
Lending a hand with cleaning
Planning games and other activities for the children
Spending time with the children (games, activities and reading simple books).

The orphanage is small, and it’s easy for the staff to find tasks for volunteers to assist with. While there are only a hand full of children on site, it’s almost inevitable that there will certainly be more to do in a day than the full-time staff can do. Because of this, Friends for Asia volunteers are able to make a more meaningful contribution.

Highlights

There are few more noble things in this world, then assisting orphaned children, who hunger for love an attention.

Qualifications

Volunteers must be 18+ in age. Flexibility and patience are an absolute must for participants in this project. Although it's not required, we do favor volunteers who have experience in working with children. Cultural differences exist, as they do anywhere in Thailand. For this reason volunteers need to be sensitive to the cultural differences that exist in the project.

A criminal police background check is required for all participants prior to participating in the project.
