Description
There are five areas covered by the syllabus:
* Characteristics and needs of the adult language learner
* Analysing and teaching grammar, functions, vocabulary, pronunciation
* Teaching reading, listening, speaking, writing and how to combine the language skills
* Becoming a professional teacher and pursuing your own development
* Planning lessons of a variety of types and learning to use a wide range of materials and activities, including educational technology
A typical day on the course will start with either observing or teaching classes at CELT, then discussing the lesson and receiving or giving feedback to colleagues.
After that, trainees spend a few hours with their tutors presenting their course input, seminars & workshops covering the five main areas of the syllabus.
The day ends with an hour of assisted lesson planning during which trainees discuss their lessons for their upcoming teaching practices with their course tutors.

Qualifications
Candidates for this course should* be at least 18 years old or more
* be eligible for entry into a higher ed institution
