Course Design

This 120 hour programme has three main areas:

1. Class units for private use and other resources are available to you on our virtual learning platform.
2. Daily three hour workshops with a skilled teacher who will guide you in mastering the course material.
3. Afternoon practical experience with teaching students while being supported and monitored by our experienced teachers.

The four modules that form our course foundation:

1. Language Analysis Module – Focuses on English grammar and the technical intricacies that are important to the teaching of English. You will master the skills yourself and then learn how to most effectively communicate this material to foreign students, including how to deal with any potential issues.

2. The Lesson Planning Module – This is for creating lessons that effectively communicate English material without resorting to translation for vocabulary and sentence structures. You will learn how to formulate interesting activities and tasks for students.

3. The Teaching Skills Module – This workshop will cover methodologies and the best strategies for teaching. We seek to show you how to answer, “What makes a good teacher?” and to find your own individual path. You will learn how to teach every level from complete beginners to advanced levels.

4. The Teaching Proficiency Module – This will teach you how to be an effective and engaging classroom teacher. You will learn classroom management, how to correct errors, preparing for exams, testing, teaching English online and specialized English courses like English in Law, English in Medicine, etc.

What`s Included

The OxbridgeTEFL 120 hour programme will leave participants with a thorough knowledge in how to teach English as a second language. Our programme will train students to:

- Programme participants will experience 16-20 hours of teaching in a classroom with students from all abilities, ages, and requirements.

- Our training sessions are intensive workshops where our skilled teachers show programme participants the most effective way to teach grammar, how to work with students and explain any issues, how to create engaging lesson plans, where to find resources to aid teaching, how to work with fellow teachers to grow as an instructor and how to teach English to all levels.
