Minds Abroad Teach +Travel in China Program

The Minds Abroad Teach +Travel in China Program offers paid English teaching positions for nearly an entire year in Yunnan Province, China. Yunnan is China's most diverse province and Lonely Planet's top choice in the country. The first three weeks of the program, in August, include orientation and training sessions based in the capital of Yunnan Province, Kunming. After the completion of this orientation, participants will receive teaching placements in or near Kunming for the next ten months.

The placements will last from the beginning of September to the end of June or the beginning of July. Participants will earn a minimum of ￥7000 per month and they will be offered accommodations, as part of their compensation. The initial August orientation consists of intensive Chinese classes in the morning, teaching practicum in non-profit organizations in the afternoon, TESOL course in the evening, weekend travel around Yunnan and hands-on cultural activities. In addition to this in-person TESOL training in August, participants will be required to complete an online TESOL training program prior to their arrival in China.

Starting in September, participants will be teaching at a school either in Kunming or at a school one hour forty-five minutes or less away from Kunming. Apart from teaching on school days, they will also participate in the day trips on weekends, cultural activities and trips throughout the year.
