Program Description

Veterinary Medicine (Integrated programme, duration 5.5 years; Degree: Master in Veterinary Medicine; Qualification: Veterinary Surgeon; ECTS credits: 336. Coursework is organised into semesters and cycles according to study plans and timetables of lectures. Students studying in cycles learn 3 or 4 subjects simultaneosly. After finishing a cycle is one subject, they are given a test or exam for credit in a set term; then they begin the next subject or module. There ae no final exams at the end of the semester for those studying in cycles. Students study 5-7 subjects every semester when on a semester schedule. Exams are taken upon completion of each subject. The veterinary medicine study programme is concluded with master's thesis defence.

Highlights

The objective of the Veterinary Medicine Study Programme is to develop masters of veterinary surgeons of high qualification who would be capable to work in the private and state network of veterinary services, diagnose animal diseases, treat ailing animals, apply preventive measures, exercise control over diseases and food, investigate, convey knowledge, address complicated veterinary problems, adapt skills and knowledge in independent activity and further learning.

What`s Included

The integrated study programme consists of 3 blocs of subjects. The first, which is called the general higher education block, consist of liberal arts, social studies, mathematics and natural sciences. Basic veterinary medicine studies consist of biomedical sciences, such as anatomy, histology, physiology, biochemistry and so on. The third block includes subjects in the fields of specialisation and makes up approximately 60 % of the curriculum.
