USAC Ireland: Cork (Semester/Yearlong)

Overall rating: 0 based on 0 reviews

Program Description

Study abroad on the south coast of Ireland in Cork, the second largest city for the year or a semester. Rather than join our shorter summer program, you will be able to really experience the local culture and lifestyle of the community in Cork. There is a strong industrial and commercial center with food processing, brewing, and pharmaceuticals. Lonely Planet recommends Cork as one of the top ten cities to visit in the world and in 2005 Cork was crowned the European Capital of Culture. There are plenty of activities to engage in from shopping boutiques to visiting markets, restaurants, and cafes. Enrich your cultural experience through attending jazz and film festivals.

The city is comprised of cultural and education events along with sports. There is an Opera House and a city museum in Cork along with sculpture and painting galleries. Cork is home to a beautiful region filled with river valleys, mountains, and even the sea around Cork Harbor. As a longer-term student, you will also have the option of enrolling in an internship program.
