USAC Brazil: Florianópolis

Take the opportunity to explore the dynamic country of Brazil in the intriguing city of Florianópolis. This program will allow participants to be immersed in the local culture while learning and being a member of a prestigious university. This country is culturally diverse and one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Enjoy breathtaking beaches and soak up the gorgeous weather on the southeast coast of Brazil. This is an eclectic city mixed with locals, immigrants, and travelers who have come together to enjoy all that this country has to offer. Study Portuguese and broaden your range of courses at the third largest university in Brazil.

Participants with this program will learn about managing natural resources, the international economy, and cultural studies. The courses with this program are instructed in English, but you will have plenty of opportunity to mingle with the local culture and language. We offer an intensive Portuguese course for students who want to cement their learning. Learn two years worth of language in a semester or cover one year in a summer.

This program runs for a year or a semester. There is also a summer program that is split into two sessions: Session 1 – 3 week and Session 2 – 5 week. You can also combine these for a total of 8 weeks.

While academics and classes will provide you with a strong foundation, USAC promotes cultural trips and explorations to learn about the local lifestyle. You will be able to be a part of optional tours to Minas Gerais (Summer or Spring), Buenos Aires (Fall), and the Iguaçu Falls.
