Program Description
The Summer Academy at Sunningdale School is a two week residential programme for international students aged 8-13.
High level English lessons are combined with cultural excursions and lots of outdoor activities to familiarise our students with the UK and boarding school life. The academy is perfect for students with confirmed UK school places, those preparing for Common Entrance examinations, those looking to improve their English skills or those who just want a unique British experience.
We expect each student to leave the academy with a new confidence in the English language, a greater appreciation for English literature, for their understanding to have been shaped by the historical and cultural perspectives supplied by the course and for their own writing and presentation style to have been developed and honed. Our classes are dynamic learning spaces where children can have fun while being intellectually engaged. We keep the size of the academy small and our workshop sizes even smaller, streamed by age and ability, so that every participant gets the one-on-one support they need in order to excel. Whilst under the guidance of some of the best British teachers, our students will drive their own success, learning lifelong study skills both through independent and team work.
With quintessentially English surroundings, a high ratio of staff to students, low student numbers and an exceptional level of teaching, it is the leading UK programme of its kind.
