TECHNION NEUBAUER SPRING SEMESTER PROGRAM

Program Description

The maximum study load for visiting international students cannot exceed 4 technical Technion courses and 2 general Technion courses (in Hebrew) during one semester. Past students have noted that enrolling in classes in Hebrew creates unique obstacles to international students, even if the students have some background in Hebrew. This general rule does not apply to international semester programs.

Semesters are comprised of 14 weeks of teaching, followed by a 2 week exam period.
Spring Semester: March-July 2015

Full-time students typically take between 16-20 credits per semester. One academic lecture hour (50 minutes) equals 1 credit point.

Courses are given at the second, third and fourth year undergraduate levels. Some include activities off-site and visits to business and industry areas.

Highlights

NEUBAUER INTERNSHIP/CO-OP – Starting January - All students can take a minimum of 8 week INTERNSHIP (or more) in a TECHNOLOGY COMPANY or a REAL LABORATORY prior and during the semester to strengthen their CV towards future job search

Technion offers an opportunity for a full semester program in the Spring.

The program focuses on:

· Engineering and Science – variety of Engineering and Science Courses, Company Visits, Internship in a Laboratory or an Technological Company, meetings with Entrepreneurs. Our courses focus mainly on: Civil and Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering

· Introduction to Medicine – for Pre-Health students including internship in a medical laboratory or medical company, shadowing a Dr, Real Medical School Courses and other academic courses in fields like: History of Medicine, Ethics and Medicine, Behavioral Sciences, Human Sexuality, Becoming a Dr. and more..

· Semester of Entrepreneurship - variety of Entrepreneurship and Business Courses, Company Visits, Internship in a Laboratory or an Technological Company, meetings with Entrepreneurs

· Academic classes go March – June (exams in June-July)
